This is a matted and signed digital color print. Matted with a white hinged mat with backing board. Available in 8x10" size.

"Pollinate: Ruby Throated Hummingbird" is an original watercolor painting by Victoria K. Chapman. This delightfully colorful series of paintings called "Pollinate" features 7 different critters who are native or naturalized to New England in the United States and pollinate our flowers and trees. These beneficial birds and insects are an integral part of the native ecosystem and our agricultural systems. This series pays homage to these tiny wonders and their environments.

"Pollinate: Ruby Throated Hummingbird" features the Ruby Throated Hummingbird, the only species of hummingbird that exists in New England. This tiny avian friend is one of the few non-insect pollinators in this area of the world. Among their favorite flowers are Trumpet Honeysuckle and Trumpet Vine, both featured in this painting. Hummingbirds love long trumpet-shaped flowers they can drink nectar from. In the foreground is the classic depiction of the male hummingbird with the bright ruby patch on the throat they are famous for. In the background is a less colorful, but equally lovely female hummingbird, waiting for her turn at the flowers.

For each sale from this series, the artist will donate 10% of proceeds to a local environmental charity of the artist's choice (eg: Greater Worcester Land Trust or Kestrel Land Trust).
