“Looking Back” is an exhibition that will take viewers on a journey down memory lane, exploring memories, and the stories that shape artists into who they are. This exhibit will feature a collection of visual art and pieces centered around the concept of memoir and nostalgia, encouraging artists to reflect on their past experiences, emotions, and moments that define their lives.
My two pieces, “Dream Flight” and “A Toast to Friendship” will be part of this show. My own work as a children’s illustrator shares pieces of my life as a child. I’m always inspired by memories of being a child, combined with the lives of my own children and the world we live in today.
The opening reception is on March 6th at 4pm. The show will be open for viewing through March 29th, 2025.

Color is an essential element of visual art and communicates emotions, attracts attention, and references culture. Artist members were asked to delve deeply into the dominant color of their choice, and respond to one (or more) of ten artworks on loan from the Fitchburg Art Museum. This year’s loan features artworks that each utilize a limited color palette, or are dominated by a single color.
My new monochromatic piece titled “Fragility” is a response to a photograph by Joyce Tennesen titled “Fork Shaped Tree”. I’m excited to see all of the pieces from ArtsWorcester members. I hope you will join us.

Painting outdoors can be lovely and wonderful. But, that’s not always possible when the weather gets cooler. Fortunately for us, New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill has beautiful indoor conservatories with an array of plants to enjoy year-round! Walk together through the Orangerie and sit with a watercolor journal, water brushes, and watercolor paints to create your own depiction of the amazing flora NEBG has to share.
No experience necessary. Come play with a more compact watercolor setup! This is intended to be a fun and relaxing workshop with no expectations.
Journals, pencils, brushes, and paints provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. The journal will be yours to keep. Pencils, brushes, and paints to be returned. A supplies list will be provided should you choose to purchase your own after the workshop.

Watercolors can be challenging for beginners, but they can also be relaxing and fun. Come play with watercolors by filling in shapes with different colors, patterns, and textures. This allows for experimentation and play in a focused fashion, giving way to flow and a relaxed, zen-like state. We will start the session with an introduction to the materials and a teacher demonstration before trying it out on your own.

All materials will be provided, to be returned at the end of class. Your paintings are yours to take home.
