Rays of Light ORIGINAL Painting of Cownose Stingrays in the Ocean - FRAMED
- Description
The cownose ray is a species of stingray native to the western Atlantic ocean along the east coast of the United States. These gentle creatures often swim in packs. This piece was inspired by the cownose rays my family saw at the Mystic Aquarium. I love the way light shines through the water and I wanted to capture the silhouettes of these majestic rays through the light. A beacon of hope and peace for our oceans. A small portion of the sale of this painting will be donated to the Mystic Aquarium to help support their ocean conservation programs.
This was painted on 300 pound Fabriano hot pressed watercolor paper, using watercolors and metallic watercolors. In-person this piece is light and shimmery.
The painting itself is approximately 6x6". It is framed in a 8.5x8.5" frame with a white painted wood frame and acrylic plexiglass. Total outer dimensions of the frame are 10.25"x10.25". The back is equipped with a hanging wire, as well as a stand so it may be hung on the wall or propped on a table.
This listing is to purchase the ORIGINAL piece of signed art. This is NOT a print. This comes framed, wrapped up carefully to avoid breakage in shipping.
