The cownose ray is a species of stingray native to the western Atlantic ocean along the east coast of the United States. These gentle creatures often swim in packs. This piece was inspired by the cownose rays my family saw at the Mystic Aquarium. I love the way light shines through the water and I wanted to capture the silhouettes of these majestic rays through the light. A beacon of hope and peace for our oceans.
