"Pollinate: Hummingbird Clearwing Moth" is an original watercolor painting by Victoria K. Chapman. This delightfully colorful series of paintings called "Pollinate" features 7 different critters who are native or naturalized to New England in the United States and pollinate our flowers and trees. These beneficial birds and insects are an integral part of the native ecosystem and our agricultural systems. This series pays homage to these tiny wonders and their environments.

"Pollinate: Hummingbird Clearwing Moth" depicts a tiny and lovely pollinator that can often be found in flower gardens flitting about for nectar. Their appears is that of a tiny hummingbird in its movements, but also like that of a large bumble bee. These furry insects have beautiful clear wings that move so quickly, it's hard to catch a glimpse until they land on a flower for a quick moment. In this painting, these almost fairy-like critters are seen among some red Bee Balm flowers and tall grasses of a butterfly garden. The little green horned caterpillar of these moths is shown chewing on the leaves of a cherry tree, a favorite for their larvae.

For each sale from this series, the artist will donate 10% of proceeds to a local environmental charity of the artist's choice (eg: Greater Worcester Land Trust or Kestrel Land Trust).
