This piece was commissioned by Karen Willard Ribeiro of Inner Fortune (innerfortune.com), inspired by material from her book, "Beyond Karen". This piece explores reaching deep into our roots to sit in the quiet of contemplation about ourselves and our relationship with the world around us. The feminine figure of a tree represents the act of exploring our own roots inside and out, and reaching up to the outer world to share in compassion. The sunrise and the golden road show the journey that awaits within each of us, sharing with ourselves and our companions a sense of humility and hope.
