Victoria K. Chapman is a fine artist, illustrator, author, and teacher who grew up in New England and currently lives in central Massachusetts. She graduated from the University of Connecticut’s illustration program in 2004. Victoria’s art shares joy in nature, wildlife, the Earth, mindfulness, and imagination. She uses elements of nature to celebrate the diversity and beauty of life on this planet and among our humanity.

Victoria loves watercolors, often combining them with colored pencils, gouache, pen, and chalk pastels to create colorful and playful images appealing to both adults and children. She is a pre-published author and illustrator of children’s picture books. Through her art and stories, Victoria wishes to share with children and grown-ups the joy and beauty of nature, the outdoors, and a care for all the diverse life on this planet. She believes that living gently on the Earth with a sense of mindfulness and playful imagination will help us make the world a better place.

Victoria teaches beginner art workshops in order to spread the joy of art and nature to her fellow community members. She also participates in local public art projects (such as Gnomevember at New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill) and is a member of several art and creative organizations, including SCBWI, The Author’s Guild, and ArtsWorcester. Victoria believes that art is one of many paths to spreading joy and compassion to fellow humans and all of the life this beautiful planet holds.

In her spare time, Victoria loves being outdoors hiking, gardening, and spending time with family. She is also a musician (aquaence.bandcamp.com), belly dancer, and a mom to three humans, one dog, and dozens of plants.
